When you’re caught in a negative spiral… here’s how to shift it

This week I caught myself looking at life with a negative spiral and I realized if I keep doing this - that is all I am going to see.

All the wrong, all the bad, all the things that are not working.

It’s good to notice what’s off, but dwelling there can be contagious. It can pull you back in, especially if it’s been a long-time habit.

When I noticed myself slipping into that pattern, I chose to shift my focus. And almost instantly, things began to change. My body relaxed, the tension eased, and my mood lifted.

Here’s what I recommend:

How often are you looking at life through a negative spiral?

Do you catch yourself complaining, noticing only what isn’t right or feeling like things rarely go as planned?

Awareness is the first step — but action creates change.

Start by choosing to see things differently. Then notice what happens in your body, your energy and your actions.

This kind of shift takes practice. Over time, as you rewire those old patterns, you create lasting change.
